    Most 21st birthday events at licensed venues finish between 11:00pm and 1:00am. This depends on the venue’s licence, location, and any local noise restrictions. Inner-city venues may allow later finishes, while residential or rural venues often have earlier curfews.

    In many cases, yes. Venues may require security staff for larger groups or events where alcohol is a focus. Host responsibility is a legal requirement in NZ, meaning venues must ensure alcohol is served safely, including by offering food and water and managing guest behaviour. Some venues include this in their packages, while others may charge additionally.

    The cost can vary significantly depending on the venue, location, and guest numbers. As a guide, minimum spend or hire fees typically range from $500 for smaller spaces to $5,000+ for exclusive venue hire. Food and beverage packages are often priced per person or set as a bar tab.
