Ideally, planning should begin in the middle of the year. Popular venues and suppliers often book out months in advance, so starting around June or July gives you the best chance of securing your preferred date and location.

It’s best to confirm key suppliers 3–4 months in advance. Caterers, AV teams, and entertainment providers fill their calendars quickly in the lead-up to Christmas, so securing them early guarantees availability and peace of mind. Invitations should go out 8–10 weeks before the event. This gives guests enough notice during a busy season while also allowing time to finalise catering numbers, seating plans and any dietary requirements.
