Located in the heart of Ōtautahi Christchurch, The Arts Centre is an Aotearoa New Zealand landmark that provides you with a charming heritage setting.

A UNESCO award-winning heritage building with proven acoustics and modern heating, lighting and sound, The Great Hall is a Christchurch venue like no other. Built as a hall for Canterbury College (now the University of Canterbury), the Great Hall has been strengthened and restored post-earthquake. The large, north-facing stained glass Memorial Window was originally installed in 1938 and is comprised of 4,000 individual pieces of glass. The window is dedicated to the memory of all staff and students who served in WWI.

Featuring an open fireplace, large projection screen and lighting rig, wheelchair access, a kitchenette/green room, and renowned for excellent acoustics, The Great Hall provides outstanding photo opportunities and a prime central city location for your next event. Fantastic is The Great Hall at The Arts Centre.It is looking very good and it can be hired for functions. With the ability to go outside to the courtyard it makes the place a wonder venue.As its in the central business district consider car parking before you go. They car parks can fill up quickly.Nonetheless certainly worthy of consideration.

An amazing venue - we had our wedding here, and hired out both the Great Hall and the North quad, which were cordoned off from the public. It made for an amazing setting for our wedding, and we adored it. We received so many comments about the venue being amazing, and we couldn't agree more. What makes it better, is that venue hire is very well priced for what you get, especially being located in town. The setting is beautiful, and makes for amazing pictures. A very special place, we highly recommend!
