I’d been to Boardwalk a couple of times during last year’s ski season and wanted to take my partner this year so he can experience for himself what I was raving about when I got home.The service and quality of food was just as I remembered. Friendly and attentive staff without being “in your face”, decent sized servings and flavours to die for. It’s predominantly a seafood restaurant given that it overlooks Lake Wakatipu, but there are “non-marine” options if seafood isn’t reallyyour thing.There’s a lovely bar for pre-dinner drinks that has a glorious view of the mountains and lake. Well worth getting to your booking a bit early to enjoy it.Ready to order and we started with butterflied King Prawns. Delicately char-grilled and beautifully tender. For main, I opted for the Lamb Rack while my partner had the Eye Fillet. We both had food envy so sharing was definitely on the cards. Both meals were delicious, cooked to perfection and the accompanying sides were equally as tasty.Even though we were full from dinner, we couldn’t go past dessert. He went for the Sticky Date Pudding while I went for a lighter option and had a cheese board. Word of advice….share the cheese plate! It was huge and more than enough for 2 people.Highly recommend a visit to Boardwalk but make sure you book as it gets pretty busy.

I can't decide what I'd rate higher, the views, the food or the service.It was all impeccable!Almost every seat in the restaurant has some sort of view of the lake.The staff were wonderful. The service was quick, 100% correct and always with a smile. They checked on us regularly so we never needed to flag someone, if we wanted a drink or our next course of food.The food, well that deserves 5 stars all on its own from starters to mains to dessert. Great portions, incredible flavours and all cooked to perfection.
