The Headwaters Eco Lodge is an award-winning venue and accommodation nestled between tempo mountain ranges in Glenorchy, a beautiful township at the head of Lake Wakatipu. With a reputation that precedes it, this dynamic venue combines world-class facilities with mind-blowing scenery.

LOCATION The Headwaters Eco Lodge is a scenic, forty-minute drive from the hustle and bustle of Queenstown. Alternatively, a short helicopter or fixed-wing flight will transport you to Glenorchy in no time! SPACES The Lodge has a range of spaces that are configurable as meeting rooms, reception, break-out, lounging and private dining areas. Each space has complimentary WIFI, state-of-the-art AV and seating options to suit any gathering. Wander outside and enjoy the Scheelite Shelter with its roaring fire and native gardens, plus magnificent mountain vistas. With plenty of outdoor space, a marquee can be provided to increase the overall venue capacity. CATERING The Headwaters Eco Lodge presents mouth-watering catering, with all meals prepared by their internationally recognised executive chef. With a dedication towards local produce - many ingredients are foraged from the bountiful kitchen garden to create magic for your plate. SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY Sustainability and social responsibility are the fundamental values at the heart of The Headwaters Eco Lodge. The Lodge was built to one of the highest sustainability standards in the World - the Living Building Challenge. The property contains the largest solar garden in New Zealand's South Island and, as a result, produces more energy than it consumes. All venue profits go to the local Glenorchy Community Trust - which funds education, art, health and environment-related projects in Glenorchy. Can't recommend Headwaters Lodge highly enough to anyone thinking of getting married there! We decided to get married in the idyllic location so we could have a small intimate wedding. From the initial enquiry we were looked after by the staff - our day was perfect and the team when over and above to make sure of this! Beautiful venue, stunning location, committed and caring staff, wonderful food, comfortable accommodation and an unforgettable day. Couldn't have asked for more! Thank you so much ❤

Accommodation

The Headwaters Eco Lodge has a total of fourteen ensuite double Eco Chalets. Four of them are Premium king rooms and the other ten can be set as king or twin share. Either individual rooms or interconnecting rooms are available. If your group requires more space, we also have four bunk bedrooms and four bunk huts available, with two and four bunk beds each with shared amenities. Another option is The Headwaters House, which sleeps up to six people. Located on-property with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, this well-appointed private cottage offers two distinct living rooms, wood-burning fireplace, and a fenced private garden.
