Waikākā Church

Set at the base of Coronet Peak, Waikākā Church is a restored heritage chapel made for Queenstown weddings. Hold your ceremony on the lawn beside the Mill Stream, then move inside for dinner with up to 100 guests, or keep the party going with up to 140 for drinks and dancing.

Built over a century ago, the church has been carefully restored with modern comforts while keeping its original character, from the arched windows to the vaulted ceiling. A deck and lawn wrap around the building, so guests can spill outside with a drink and take in the mountain views.

Arrive in style with a helicopter landing, or park onsite. There’s a bar, a stage and plenty of room for a DJ or band, and the loft can be set up as a lighting or sound deck. Choose ceremony only, or ceremony and reception in one place.

Inside you’ll find ducted heating and cooling for every season, two fully accessible bathrooms and all-weather options. Catering is available onsite, or bring your own suppliers on a dry hire basis.

Waikākā Church also hosts milestone celebrations, fundraisers, performances and corporate events. It seats 120 theatre-style or 50 for meetings, with a screen for presentations and video calls.
