Built in 1925, Administrator House has undergone contemporary restoration to strengthen and modernise the space while maintaining its original character and charm. These outstanding restorations earned Administrator House the 2023 New Zealand Architecture Award—Heritage Category. The building's exterior features an entrance made of Oamaru limestone and Nelson marble—an incredible backdrop for a grand arrival. The Gallery is a light and flexible space with a high stud pressed ceiling, wooden floors and an impressive collection of artworks, including Andy Warhol and Dick Frizzell. As a dry-hire venue, the helpful events and venue manager will be on standby to help coordinate the rental of furniture, AV equipment, and catering from their list of preferred suppliers. Administrator House works with an exclusive selection of excellent suppliers, who you can learn more about through their website. Amenities include accessible toilets, a kitchen, air conditioning, and security-operated doors. Located on O'Connell Street, Administrator House is the newest yet oldest venue on the block - hosting events with up to 100 guests.
