Backpaddock Lakes is an idyllic venue, accommodation and water sports park. With the majestic Ruahine Ranges in the background and hectares of lakes in the foreground, this central Hawkes Bay venue is the dream destination for a myriad of occasions.

The specialty-built Barn is a beautiful building lined with home-milled timber, large lake-facing sliding doors, kitchen, bar and bathroom facilities.

Due to the malleable nature of the space, you are welcome to design your own floor plan. With the capacity to seat 140-180 guests, The Barn can also be configured to suit smaller groups.

Should you opt for an overnight or even a multi-day event, Backpaddock Lakes has 7 contemporary-style cabins and a charming 5-bedroom villa.

The property is also available for the addition of a marquee to accommodate even more guests.

As one of New Zealand's most significant water sports parks, Backpaddock Lakes offers all kinds of water-based activities - from cable wakeboarding to kayaking and paddleboarding to boating.

This was the first venue we had viewed and it was the last - we fell in love with this place from the start, we knew it would bring to life what we envisioned and it did that and more.Charlotte & Trevor, your hospitality is world class. We can't thank-you enough for allowing us to celebrate our day in your home. We had endless comments from our family & friends on how beautiful and special your Venue is with our DJ even saying it was one of, if not the most epic venue he has played at.My Wife and I are Wellington locals - but Backpaddock Lakes has the Hawkes Bay forever in our gratitude. Just get married here would be my recommendation 🤷🏾‍♂️

Charlotte and Trev have created such a special venue. Backpaddocks is ideal for those wanting a country, lakeside location for their wedding. The gorgeous barn and surrounding areas give a blank canvas to make your day truly unique. Being able to hire the venue for the weekend gave us more time to set up and pack down, taking stress away. The on site accommodation was ideal. Us girls had the best time getting ready in the beautiful villa. Thank you so much for an unforgettable weekend.

Their time, care and attention to detail made the entire experience seamless and unforgettable. They truely go the extra mile to make it special and nothing is ever a problem. Having the entire venue for 3 days was so helpful and made it stress free for set up and pack down. Plus we loved the cable wakeboard park activity for our day after fun!The boys enjoyed getting ready at the villa and it was so ideal with only a short walk to the cabins and villa for accommodation on site.If you’re looking for a venue that offers a beautiful setting/facilities and wonderful people to work with, I highly recommend Backpaddock Lakes.
